I'm on my 3rd Audi, an S4. I still love it with 87k miles on it, but it hasn't been trouble free. It is fast, gets great mileage, and is unbelievable in bad weather. With a chip, it pulls better than my 993, but is a bit heavy. After a chip, brakes, exhaust and suspension, I think it is just what I want.... To say Audi leaves something on the table is an understatement. They are able street cars, but not really "sporty" IMHO out of the box. I'll consider an A3 for my next ride, but will also look hard at some others, like the BMW x line.

I drove a bunch of audis back to back (a3, tt, a6, a4 etc) have owned an a a4 and an s4 avant. Everything about the a3 seems right on paper, well except that 2.0 quattro MT is not available...

Anyway, good looks, I love hatches, nice interior... But.. but... the drive sucks. Even on an autox course, the a4 and a6 felt better. The car has no front grip when pushed. I'm sure it's fine to get groceries with.

You can put a hitch on this car. Extensive research reveals that Curt makes the best (i.e. only) hitch solution. Look here for a cut-away, and here for a retailer. For $150 and a couple hours of install, you can tow your motos anywhere (or whatever floats your boat). I will be doing this modification, just as soon as I find somewhere to go!!!
