The bass has a real nice mid range punch. Hits low notes well, but really doesn't have the surface area for really low notes based on it only being 8". I did upgrade all of my speakers last year to Infinity reference speakers. So new 4x6 plates in the back and 5 1/4 components in the front. I used the factory tweeter setup and just replaced the speaker with the new one mounted in the original plastic holder. I mounted the component controller in the storage pocket of the doors toward the front of the pocket. Did not even miss the space that they took up. Couple of pics attached to show off the speakers up front.

Cowtown - NICE work on the home speakers....they look great. I bet they sound good too.

Greg, with all those compound angles that thing is like a Stealth fighter made out of MDF. Bet the radar bounces right off of it.

Looks good too! Need the inspiration to get me off my duff to make one...

Not only does it bounce radar signals, it makes me invisible - ha! I'm still working on the plans for anyone who may want them.

I'm no basketball player at 5'9", but at least I fit nicely in my 993!
