+1000. With the way you're approaching your future, plan to continue to be dirt poor at least through mid adulthood. It's a poor choice at your age and apparent lack of financial means to burden yourself with $3K to $5K a year just to maintain a 911 as a DD, not to mention that insurance for a 911 for a male under the age of 25 is astronomical. At your age, plan on spending a total of $10,000 to $12,000 per year to drive this car, not counting the mods you're already talking about doing in another thread. Not trying to be mean or ugly here, that's just reality. There's a reason that the average age of a 911 buyer is over 40.

Better choice- Stop ragging on the dealership for your auto woes and focusing on how to get something for nothing and, instead, focus on college and getting a career started. Work WITH the dealer to get the car fixed, then promptly sell it and use the money toward college.

Again, not trying to be ugly here, just a dose of plain reality that apparently you've not received or understood to this point.

Another dose of reality for you. I'm in the bes college in the country on a scholarship, so I don't pay for that, the insurance is in my mother's name wich means we pay about 300€ a year for it and in Portugal the insurance is on the car not the person who owns it. So the insurance will cover anyone who drives the car. And the only reason I'm raging on the dealership is that they really should've spotted the prolem a long time ago, and after they changed the gearbox oil I asked them to take the car to get the inspection done. Not sure what you call it in other countries-the test your car needs to pass to drive on the road. How did they not notice that the gearbox was still broken in that time?!

And as for removing the rear seats i was thinkin of something cheap and DIY, not buying the shelves tha replace the seats for 600$.

Bully for you!! But reality isn't being 18 and in college with your mom paying your bills and waiting on the dealership to provide free service on the Porsche that was given to you. Sounds like you might have a bit of a leg to stand on with the TSB, though. Good Luck!

The thing is I can pay for it, but I'm in a long distance relationship and most of my money goes towards buying tickets to see this girl. Thats why I'm thinking of a way i can do this cheap or for free. I have enough money to fix it right now but I jsut booked some tickets to go see her. And when I picked up the car I did feel it was still tight but I didn't really get to feel it much because it was about 10 km to get to the highway fromt he dealership and another 10 to my house off the highway so i barely took the car out of 6th gear. Then when i actually drove it in the city I really started feeling it and before I got home it got stuck in thid gear. But this is going off-topic. All I want to know is if anyone knows anything else about the service bulletin and if the dealership would still fix the defect?

This forum would only be speculating and what the dealer would or wouldn't do for this particular situation. Print out this thread, give it to your dad, then the both of you go down to the dealership. He can inquire about the TSB, review the service record and what he's spent there over the years and negotiate something with the dealership. While he's doing that, pay attention, keep your pie hole shut (none of that "demanding" crap) and learn.

Keep in mind that neither the dealer nor the world owes you anything, long-distance GF expenses notwithstanding.

Good Luck!

Ok first of all my dad doesn't live in this country. Second, neither do you. So dont tell me how to f***** deal with the people here ok?! If you don't demand things here nothing gets done. I would know better than you. I'm the one that's been dealng with porsche dealers since I was about 12 because my dad doesn't speak portuguese and I had to take care of everything. I know what they're like here. And third, you don't know my dad so don't tell me how he'd react.
Thanx to the other people who gave me real advice

I asked if anyone knew how the porsche dealership would deal with the problem. I didn't ask if I should go down there with my dad and "keep my pie hole shut". The comment was only directed at jimbo. I didn't ask him what i should do with my life or my money, all I asked was can I blame the dealership for not noticing the problem? And since this was a factory defect, could it stil be take care of free of charge?

And I have no idea who adam is?:P

I don't think the police or judiciary are up to much either in that country! Perhaps if the local OPC stops watching porno our friend might get a response from his local stealer.
Read the UK Mail on Saturday for the account of the disgusting activities going on amongst the highest in the land at our european partner and famously oldest ally....

Sorry for going off thread, but 18yos shooting mouths off not my idea of interesting forum esp. when they get good advice off respected and mature members with much wider experience than child just out of school.... and then receive foul invective for their troubles.
What a PIA

I'm in my second year of university, and as I said before, I never asked anyone advice about my life, and as I said, and you just pointed out, this country's a mess, and since none of the member's that have posted live here, they really don't know how to deal with people here.
And I'm done with this thread, since I see that noone here wants to help me.
And Peter, I'm guessing in your post you're reffering to the child pornography problem? It really is disgusting, and the worst part is it's still going on in the same place (casa pia) and noone's doing a thing about it.
And I'm not shooting my mouth off, I was just replying to the posts that had asolutely nothing to do with my question and were just there to insult me.

I don't respect people that don't respect me. I don't care if a person's older or younger than me, respect has to go both ways. And I have trouble respecting people that make assuptions about others without knowing them.
And I don't have to justify how I got my car to any of you, I asked a question, and if you want to talk about something else then go make a thread in the off-topic section. Talk about how these spoiled kids get everything they want and they don't respect their elders, " I tell you Hwat, in my day..." WHATEVER.
