Looks like you've made your decision, but I'll chime in anyway. I just got back from the track with my Targa. I can assure you the car's capability will far outweigh yours for a long, long time. And please don't take that as a jab. Just know that you will have no problems tracking the Targa at the level of a DE. If you decide to club race, it is not the ideal choice, of course. But for street car with occasional track, it is a great, great choice. It has never let me down.

Well, I did it. I traded my SC for a '96 Targa to a fellow PCA member. It is black on black and it has had the roof update done, the top end of the motor done, an RS clutch installed and H&R lowering springs with the Bilstein dampers and the RS exhaust and she has 105,000 km on the odometer. I will try and upload a picture or two but thanks for all of your advice and help, I am still numb and it hasn't sunk in yet that this beauty is resting in my garage.
I have the stock 17" tires, 205's and 255's, at what pressure do these normally run at? I can't tell you how much I look forward to discovering everything about this car, it's like being reborn.

Thanks for the compliments.
Louis, I think another "unofficial" BBC is a grand idea and I will try and find a dry weekend which probably means short notice. I will post it here and to our local list. Now if only the weather would dry up for awhile.

Beautiful Car Bob! Black is a b_itch to keep clean, but when they're spotless they're stunning.

Hey Bob - I knew this was going to happen! And as someone who was hungry for a 993 some time ago - I know what it feels like to have one sitting in the garage, finally, to call your own ... Congratulations - I think you got a good one there, and glad to hear to were able to make deal with John.
... and anytime you feel like an impromptu BBC this winter, I'm game!

Beautiful Targa! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. You probably already know this, but "just in case": the air deflector on the rear spoiler is broken and needs replacement, to ensure proper cooling air for the air-cooled engine.

Thanks Dan V. That picture was taken two weeks before I purchased it and I didn't know that the rear spoiler was broken. Could you be more specific?
Thanks in advance.
Mr. RSRee, you have good insight. I think the Sunday after the last BBC was when I decided for a lot of reasons to pursue John's car and being one who believes in fate and opportunity, the morning after I bought the car, someone showed up at Affinity to purchase it. So it was meant to be and I am still numb. The 993 is the best looking 911 ever designed and I feel very fortunate to be counted as an owner of one.
