If you are at all nostalgic, you have to check out the Hangar Hotel, at the County Airport in Fredericksburg, ~2 miles from downtown. I stayed there last week, and thought it was great. In addition to all the cool 1940s stuff, the rooms are spacious and very comfortable, with 2 large leather chairs. No cows however.

Also check out August E's, a superb restaurant on 290E outside of town.
My first time in the hill country, I loved it. I kept thinking "I wish I had my Porsche!"

I'd be happy to coordinate it. I designed and led our P-club's Bluebonnet Tour last year through the Hill Country, so I know quite a few routes, or who to contact to get more info.
Should we start a separate thread? Let me know what y'all are thinkin'...
Yeehaw!!!
