Default 60K mile major service... Where?

I'm due for one and was thinking about couple of options...

1)Stealer-Newport Beach was highly recommended with reasonable price.
2)Indies-Hergesheimer,Stuttgart, and others...
3)DIY-most of stuff is inspect anyway and maybe help of local RL guru...
Please share your thoughts and advice as to what's the best route to take.
Yes, I'm leaning toward #1 but...

My vote:
1) Yourself. It's pretty easy.
2) Hergs.
3) Any other independent.

If you opt for Newport Auto, call and ask for Kevin Kelly's Service Adviser. He is a line mechanic at Newport Auto, former lead wrench at ANDIAL, he really knows his stuff.

Hergesheimer is very good...not as familiar with Stuttgart but have heard good things about them.

DIY would be fun if you have the time and the knowledge, and support.

Best to replace the p/s belt at clutch time -- which, as of lately, with the cars I have had, seems to be around the 60K mile mark.

I did it without an engine drop by unbolting the P/S pump. But I will never attempt that again, what a major PITA. And the belt at 90k miles was in perfect shape.

I do my major services over a few mos. as I have time and can round up parts. Between 50k and 55k miles I DIY'ed the following:

1) plugs - $50
2) plug wires - $150 (I reused my connectors)
3) rebuilt dizzy, caps and rotors - $250
4) belts - $50
5) tranny fluid - $40
6) oil, filters and air filter - $85
7) brake and clutch flush - $15
8) hood and decklid shocks - $35

So that's under $700 and I know it was done right by the person who cares about the car more than anyone else.

Where I got stung and had to take her to a pro was for CEL stuff that I was unable to DIY diagnose. That work cost me $560, then I put in all new O2 sensors for around $500 and finally had my injectors ultrasonically cleaned for $160. The injectors fixed the problem once and for all. In total I've spent under $2k on my 993 in the last three years and it needs absolutely nothing. Not a bad cost of ownership.
