Can you tow more with a 96 thru 98 or is a 95 better?

I figured my eventual 993 C4S will look good pulling my trimaran sailboat down to Galveston...keep those miles off my F150.

You have to install a steering rack brace on the 95's. However, on the 96-98, they came with a trailer hitch hookup behind the license plate. They also came with a transmission oil cooler which the 95's didn't have.

The "S" stands for "towing" package IIRC...

If you attach the hitch directly to the bumper of a '95 it becomes an "S"...

yes, but you also need to add the steering rack bracket, the oil cooler for the G50, the wider rear tires to help pull up the 4000 lbs. boat up the 30 degree ramp, in the wet. LSD for traction control, the wider fender so the mud won't splash the boat, and that's it. You'll end up with an "S" for towing.
