Hey there guys, another newbie question, there is an M030 suspension on eBay for a 993 application, and I own a 98 C2S and was wondering if this makes sense for me. I don't want anything that rides too harsh, and this will not be a track car. I want something that is better than factory, rides lower than what is on there now and still retain Porsche quality, does this make any sense??

Im with you on this one. Had M030 on my previous 993 and was too harsh as my daily driver and I dont do an track time. Im seriously looking at the M033 suspension for my new car which lowers to Euro ride height while maintaining nice ride.

Do a search and you'll find all you need

All US cars have the same height springs, M030 RoW would lower your car but M030US will not.

JMO of course but I didn't feel that the RoW M030 was at all harsh

It is a big PITA to take the suspension apart to install shocks/struts/springs/sway bars....they should be a matched set. Do your research and only change the suspension once. It is a lot of labor ($) is another way of putting it!

Some folks really like the Bilstein HD with the added 30mm of thread from adjusting the ride height. Add a set of M030 springs and with the Bilstein HD and their adjustable spring perches, you can set the ride height wherever you want. The M030 (RoW) sway bars are 22mm front, 20mm rear.

And finally, you'll need drop links, front and rear. I really like the adjustable links from Tarett Engineering in San Diego. I am putting a set on my car in the next week.

I have a '96 C4S that I did the M030 RoW suspension with the HD Bilsteins from Belgium. I absolutely love it !

I was concerned that the ride would be too harsh as well. But, my fears were not realized. The suspension system is great. I also have the heavy duty TT roll bars as well.

The car looks great, rides like it should (not harsh at all), corners flat, sits perfect .... I like it.

Greetings. I purchased one of the kits you are referring to from Vortex Motors (Viper Bob) in Tampa, FL. Prior to purchasing the kit I priced the items and found the kit to be very reasonable. The kit was shipped lickty split and is now being installed while my 993 is in for a clutch replacement. I originally looked at PSS9's but after finding they were out of stock, I checked this kit out. Had I gone the PSS9 route, I would have mad an original setting on the shocks and left it. For the same price as the PSS9's, you can get springs and sway bars. What's not to like about that deal. I will let you know next week when I pick up the car, whether or not I am pleased with the ride. Hope this helps you with your decision.

I, too, purchased the Bilstein/M030 combo from Viper Bob. Handling was improved a great deal and the ride is fine at speed but at low speeds I can feel every pebble in the road. It doesn't bother me because I spend very little time traveling at city speeds but it could get old if you had to deal with it all the time.

Shizznik, make sure your car doesn't already have a M030 suspension. Look under your hood (luggage compartment), there is a white label. If it says 030 you are good to go no upgrade required.

Shizznik: Can you clarify what you mean by M030 suspension? Does that mean shocks and springs? Is it RoW or US?

I have the complete (shocks and springs) RoW M030 suspension in my DD at it's the perfect street solution. Nice ride height and stiffness.

I had Bilstein HD shocks with RoW M030 in my previous cab and found them a tad on the harsh side but that may have been due to the fact that I was sold turbo M030 springs which are stiffer in the rear.

I have PSS9s on my project car and they are the best street solution on the basis that they can be customized to fit your needs/wants perfectly, but they are slightly more $$$.

I would stay clear of US M030 suspension as the shocks are crappy, probably worn out and you'll still be at SUV height.

I had the M030 (RoW) complete package on my car...with the 993TT 21mm rear bar. It was a very nice combination with a sweet ride height. I have since gone to PSS9s and TRG sway bars and ERP camber plates (Got the package used) ....this package requires more fiddling and is NOT fool proof. I have broken drop links, drop link mounts, had to deal with clunking..other annoying BS. ....the M030 (RoW) is a nice little package, in my opinion.

careful...I have the 030 option on my North American car, and from what I was told is that it means that I have the sport thicker sway bars.....not the M030 springs.

I am the guy selling M030 ROW springs on ebay. I installed them along with HD Bilstiens and M030 sway bars from Viper Bob. Really improved the handling of my Cab. However I frequent trips into pothole hell washington DC and have decided to go with M033 springs instead for a bit more cushion. If you want to lower your car, improve handling, and you dont drive on the moon, you will love this setup.

Are you keeping the Bilstein shocks? I wonder how much they add to the "bounce" and stiffness of the ride overall. I have had Bilstein HD's on two cars of mine with short springs and the ride was harsh. JMHO
