I, too, installed the Bilstien HD/ M030 springs/sway bars on my 96 Targa. Got package from Viper Bob.
I love it!
Thanks Viper Bob and Rennlisters who helped make the decision easy for me!

Default Mo33 question

..not wanting to hi-jack but I am considering either the Mo30 or Mo33.
Street use 100%
Porsche still provides an Mo33 shock and spring kit.
Is it better to buy the springs separately and HD's? Do I need sways?
FPB?
Thanks for any info.

If you go up on www.p-car.com there is information on the spring color codes. Look at your springs...you'll see some spring markings.

For the sway bars, to measure, I just us a digital caliper....

I'll check it out.....but even if the springs are M030, they are NA and No ROW....therefore high ride....i think?

For anyone interested in a budget alternative -

I recently bought a set of new OEM mo33 shocks and springs for $715 + $550 for install/alignment

I only drive 3-4k a year, didn't want too harsh of a ride and mostly wanted to loose the SUV ride height.

Installed last week and the car now looks and drives great ( guess we'll see how long I can go before the stock shocks go bust.... )

Where did you buy your OEM M033 shocks and springs from?

Thanks

I was kind of thinking about that - but I'd llike to test drive an M030 set up wtih HD's first...the Viper Bob 'special' is particularly enticing...

When I was looking for a suspension change out for my 993 C4S ... I went to this board as many do.

There is a great many threads about a year or two ago regarding the MO30 package from Gert vs all the PSS9s and the various combinations.

I drive only one the street/back roads/some Super Slab ... my set up from Gert with the MO30s, HD Bilsteins and TTs sways is the way to go. I do not like harsh rides. This set up delivers the best "look" and the best "feel" IMO.

Do a search a about suspensions and MO30s and such and see what you will find. The list is extensive.

dtal: The $550 for install and alignment sounds like a great price. Was it a Porsche specialty shop? race shop? dealer?

For those who asked:

I ordered the mo33 kit from Sunset Porsche - I think it's called the "tequipment lower suspension kit". ( I can find the part number for you tomorrow if you need it? )

The installation and alignment were done by Darin at West End Alignment in Torrance, who definitely lived up to his great reputation on this board... He really takes the time and care to get things perfect

Hope this helps?

Cheers,

-Daniel

If one wanted the full package but with a slightly more accomodating ride, would it make sense to buy either Gert's or Bob's set up but with the MO33 springs? Adjustability, proper ride height and a bit less loss of one's fillings......

Wow, dtal - looks great! Looks like a nice compromise between 'low' & 'commuter' height (if there is such a term).
