Them Scandinavians like their regulations.
If you have been driving there for over 10 years you know more than I do, I just know this from visiting in-laws and freinds in Germany and Sweden.
There have been more accidents with moose and deer than ever this year, so be careful, especially around dusk and dawn on those country roads

Fines for speeding on a road with a 30 or 50km/h limit
0 - 10 km over 1000 > 2000 Sek
11 - 15 km over 1200 > 2400 Sek
16 - 20 km over 1400 > 2800 Sek
21 - 25 km over 1600 > 3200 Sek
26 - 30 km over 1800 > 3600 Sek
31 - 40 km over 2000 > 4000 Sek

Fines for speeding on a road with a 70, 90, 110 and 120km/hr limit
0 - 10 km over 800 > 1500 Sek
11 - 15 km over 1000 > 2000 Sek
16 - 20 km over 1200 > 2400 Sek
21 - 25 km over 1400 > 2800 Sek
26 - 30 km over 1600 > 3200 Sek
31 - 35 km over1800 > 3600 Sek
36 - 40 km over 2000 > 4000 Sek

If you go 20 over in a 30km/h zone--they can pull your license
3 violations in a 2 year period--they can pull your license
I'm sure you know how strict they are with drunk driving

From what I understand they can pull your license for other "over the limit thresholds" too. The thresholds vary depending on how many priors you've had.

I really wish drivers here and in Australia were like those in Europe. Here in HK, the idiot factor is multiples of what it is in the worst American city...THIS IS DWO CENTRAL!

As the other HK 993 owners will attest, driving here, especially on weekends is ***-bleedingly painful. Remember the first Police Academy movie, where the meek little female cadet was learning to drive? Well, half the drivers in HK drive like her, while the other half drive like they are auditioning for "Driving Miss Daisy".

The drivers in Autralia are a little better but not by much. People will hog the fast lane and refuse to move over, even when flashed in a nice way. If you are in a "fancy" car, people will almost go out of their way to get in the fast lane, slow down and hold you up. My favourite Australian driving trick is when the drivers stay right at 60mph on a single lane highway and then a 2 laned passing section comes up for a couple of miles, these asses speed up to 80-85mph, then slow right back down to 60 once it gets into single lane highway again!

Please excuse the rant...
