Default Need A New Jack!

I'm in the market for a new jack for my 9 and was wondering what everyone is using. I noticed on most of the low profile aluminum jacks there are 4 notches that stick up on the cup. Do I need one that has a completely flat cup?

I have a Costco special its aluminum and before putting the lift in, I have to say I love that jack. It slips under my low car and is nice and light to tote around

Small piece of wood will level it out.
I suggest the AC hydraulics jacks if you don't need a lightweight one.

+1. I love my Costco aluminum. Clearly built much better than others I have seen for much more than the $100 Costco model.

Stick an ol' hockey puck in there on top of your jack. Non-marring!

Well there's a plus one in my column for my horrible 4x4 ride height. But back to your post...

I have a big ole Sears jack I use at home. It involves lifting the car up a couple of inches with the factory jack first. My friend has an AC that I LOVE to use - only bad part is (and I imagine this is true for most of those wide but low floor jacks) there is not a lot of room to get a jackstand in there when you're using it - at least I've had trouble trying to get the jackstand under the second jack point in back.

I have a tray so don't use the engine or any points on it; imagine that would make things very easy.

You have way more patience than I do. I like any work I do on the car to be as efficient as possible.

Sears 3 ton....works wonderfully.
I place a hockey puck on the cup to prevent metal on metal. You'd be surprised how well it works.
