Default 993 desirability?

From a collector point of view, which are the top five 993 models? Top five colors? Thank you.

Colors-all depends on the eye of the beholder. But of course there were only 539 95 C4 993s made--one of the rarer 993's.

I suppose I would rank them as follows:

1. 993 Turbo S
2. 993 Turb0 (96 and 97)
3. C4S/C2S/Targa
4. C4 or C2

The 993 GT1 or 993 GT2 would be at the top of my list.

Top five models is any one 993 model that you have in your garage.

IMHO, the indisputably most desirable 993's are the RS and RSCS models. I believe they already command the highest prices of any 993 model.

993 GT1
993 GT2
993 RS
turbo S
turbo/C2S/C4S

However, if you want a car that you can drive on the street in this country and not hassle wth import issues, especially with crappy dollar, you are looking at

turbo S
turbo/C2S/C4S

Of course the 94 3.6 turbo is popular now, too, among others. But not a 993...

Default Well I'd want...

If money were no object and I were in the car collection mode...
1. 993 TT
2. 993 Carrera 4 S
3. 993 Carrera S
4. A 1997 993 Carrera NB, Grand Prix White, tricked out suspension, LSD rebuilt by Paul Guard, 993 RS front splitters and side skirts, 993 Aero Kit 1 tail, Big Reds...WAIT A MINUTE, I already have such a beast, AND it's paid for. I'll just be happy with #4!

ooops, I forgot about several models. It shows about how much attention I pay to 993's as being a collectors car when I missed several models and didnt even think about them.

for the money, maintenance & Drivability, the C2S is the most desirable 993. Rear wheel drive, Turbo Look Body, and only 1752 made. It's the one everyone wants, it's price is holding steady and there are many low mileage examples for sale in the $60's. And as we all know of the 993 being the last Air-cooled 911.

All 993 prices are holding steady--provided you don't drive them much if at all. Now if there were high mileage C2S with the prices holding steady...

I'm admittedly awefully biased, but I'd have to go with the CTR-2, Turbo-R, BTR-4, and then the pinnacle of the 993: BTR-2: NB, 2WD, pure unadulterated fun.

Any Porschephile would love one of these in their collections, especially in the 993 line.
