Paul Guard rebuilt stock 993 LSD
Let me add, the Laguna Seca track had been re-finished for the motorcycle GP the week before, but other than that, the car was identical to the year before. (Whoops, I forgot that I replaced the 993 RS tail with a 993 Aero Kit 1 tail, purchased from David Ray via Jae Lee.)
Last year my best time in the race was a 1:51. This time, I had numerous 1:45 times...that is six (6) seconds folks....some, most of this was due to the LSD. Also note, these good times were on Sunday...the day my rear drop link broke and I didn't even know it until today when I took my car into the shop for a Technical Inspection. Without a drop link, I had no rear sway bar and didn't even notice it was gone.
Note...in driving the car, there was not noticeable difference with the re-built LSD other than I got out of the corners much better...a very linear response. Braking seemed more controlled with a 65% lock up and my LSA 993 rear suspension.
If you are on the fence about rebuilding your LSD, this may be the impetus you needed!
As for the pesky drop links...I am having the 993RS links rebuilt with heim joints...no more of that rubber crap that pulls out under load/stress.

David, tell me you're going?! I just talked w/ Tawfik earlier and he'll be there too. I'm leaving early Sunday morning - probably around 4:15 a.m., if you feel like caravanning.

Guys Porsche Care in San Luis Obispo will be rebuilding my drop links replacing the rubber with Heim joints. This is the second drop link where the bolt connecting the drop link to the sway bar has pulled out of its socket.
We'll have a regular 993 teste fest. I have David Ray's former tail mounted up on my GP White 993.
I still can't believe how well the car handled from X time on Sunday when the rear drop link broke...these 993 cars are amazing. I know if I broke a rear drop link in my SC coupe I'd have felt it, at least I think I would have...

Don't waste the money.
