Your Thoughts on Buying a High Mileage 993
#16
i recently upgraded from an 86 carrera to a 95 cab w/68k miles. i paid $28k. But do not forget to count all the items you will need to do on a stock high mileage car. right after i bought mine i got suspension (went with H&R/Bilsteins) about $2k installed, sway bars $500 installed, new plugs $500 installed, fixed an oil leak $400. And that doesnt include the performance stuff i did like, performance chip, 18 wheels, LPMM, etc etc etc... It racks up quickly. my advice is to look for used higher mileage car that has had these items done to it already...

BTW, 68K isn't high mileage in my book. That was a great buy at $28K!

Bought mine 4 years ago with 48k on the clock. She's a daily driver with now 110k. IMO, my car looks better, is faster and handles better than cars stock with 1/2 the miles.
It all depends on how the previous owners took care of the car. If its been maintained properly, there is no reason to be shy of high mileage 993.
Good Luck in your search !!

Bought mine at 152K from a very reputable shop- run/race it hard with no worries. All about the maintenance records and reputation of the PO. The cars rock!
