I think the best choice would be to find some narrow 16" wheels from the 95 model year - seems that snow tires work best when they're narrow and higher-profile...

Trying to decide between the Nokians, Blizzaks and Michelin's Pilot Alpin PA2. The Nokians are about 33% more expensive, which I can only assume has something to do with the fact that they're a four-season tire as opposed to a true snow tire. I'm looking for something to run only Nov-Feb in mostly cold rain with some light snow. Are the Blizzaks or Alpins better suited for my needs or should I pay up for the Nokians? Any comments on the Alpins? I haven't come across anyone on RL running them...

Also, anyone know anything about the Hankook Icebear W300?

The Nokian's are highly regarded and get pretty good reviews (canadiandriver.com has a favorable review of them here: http://www.canadiandriver.com/winter/tires/nokian.htm)

I just swapped my 997 Carrera III winter wheelset for a set of Nokian's on 17" cup wheels + some cash in my pocket. I'm looking forward to seeing how they perform.

Louis, I'm going to go the Nokian route for the cabrio. They come in N0 factory specs for 17" wheels and they are truly great all around.

Thanks for the link Jason. Danny, we should talk about this over the week. I've got to order something soon.
