Default OT - Jeep Grand Cherokee Reviews Anyone??

Sorry to hit the board up for input but this always seems to be a great place to get valuable insight....

...that said, any experience w/Jeep Grand Cherokee's? Specifically years '03- '05? The Daimler years, good or bad??

Stay away from Jeeps. Go for a used TOYOTA or LEXUS.

To many stories to explain.

Yes, I've had a 4 Runner & Pathfinder over the years w/nothing but positive experiences. Thought I might venture out.

You're speaking from personal experience McGarrett???

I had an '02 GC with the 4.7L HO and 5spd auto. SWEET motor, pulled my 4000lbs. of race gear with ease and was absolutely trouble free for 45K miles.

Suspension is a little soft but I know people who upgraded the swaybars and were very happy. They are fairly light and nimble for an SUV and reasonably quick at 60mph in under 7 seconds. Interior fit and finish was best in class as well.

It is hard to beat Toyota reliability, although the 4-Runner and Sequoia constantly remind you that they are trucks. Slow and rough by comparison.

I'd buy another in a heartbeat but I can't get three car seats across the rear seats and they don't offer a 3rd row.

Yes. From both the consumer side and retail/repair side. When I managed a autoparts store years back, we made sure to stock all of the parts for JEEPS, and alot of each. Jeeps and Fords. Plus my family and close friends have all experienced Jeeps, some even after my advice to stay away.

I have an 02' GC as well and it has been very reliable as a whole. The window regulators SUCK in it (all 4 have broken) but thats about all I can about it thats bad. 4.7 makes great power and I have about 83k miles on it now. Has never let me down.

You should consider the V8 Volvo XC90 as well. I have one and the Yamaha V8 (311hp) is amazing! The car has every luxury and saftey item you could imagine and the V8 gets 18mpg around town and 24mpg on the highway. Stay away from the T6 model (twin turbo motor) nothing but engine and transmission problems. So far, the new V8 platform has been bulletproof as far as I know. Good. luck.

Walk away from the Jeeps. My inlaws had 2 and they literally just deteriorated over the yars and they only drove them like 4-5000 per year. Terrible vehicles.

Seems love/hate - but more love than hate. I hate variability!
