Just got back from 3 weeks away and took the 993 out for a spin...found that the tachometer has fogged up. Has never happened before. Has anyone experienced this before and know what the issue is etc?
Thanks in advance.

Probably caused the last time you wiped your gauges, the gauges are not water tight sealed, so it could easier get moisture in there and cause fog. Just use a blow dryer to get the fog out.

Probably not from cleaning- I had this happen on the tach in my 964 (same gauges as 993) and the face of the gauge was starting to bubble/wrinkle. When left in the sun, the wrinkling would go down. Pissed me off enough that I sent the gauge to Hollywood speedometer to be re-faced and re-sealed.
I had used them a few years ago when I bought the car to re-do my oil pressure/temp gauge as the laminate in the glass started to peel. Both times the gauges came back looking like brand new! Not cheap, but cheaper then buying new gauges...and the turnaround time was pretty fast.

This has happened to me in both my SC and 993. It happened just a few weeks ago, I had my A/C on and then decided to roll the windows down. The tach, speedo and oil guages all fogged up, quite normal considering the outside humidity.
