So I'm kinda going down memory lane last night at our bi-weekly Bay Area group thing (see other threads), and I know that most of the guys are starting with 993's.
Thought I'd go old school and show my 1st, a '68 I got when I was literally weeks out of high school in 1980 (if my parents only knew where this would lead.....), and how it ended up 4 years later as I was graduating college.
Show us those old scans from yesteryear!

Ken,
As a matter of fact, my first Porsche is a 993. A Ruf to be exact. It could well be my last Porsche as well. Not that I do not like (ok LOVE) Porsches, but there is no other Porsche that I lust for right now.

Here's my '85 at the 2003 Zone 1 Concour in Princeton, NJ. I purchased it
in June of 2000 and sold it shortly after I bought my 993 (June 2006). Man, I
miss that car...

Mine, too is my first Porsche. It's the one I've always wanted, and instead of compromising and buying an older model first, I waited a little longer and bought my dream car.
I haven't looked back since!

My 993 is my first PORSCHE. And enjoying the crap out-of-it!
It would have been a '63 356 Cab 10-15 years ago, but I was too damned responsible, not having a garage at the time, I just couldn't get away with that in the City...

My first was an 80 SC Targa in pacific blue on ivory. One of my fave SC/Carrera colors. I loved that car but not the right 911 to own in rainy Vancouver.

Ken, that's an amazing transformation. When I was in college, I drove a '75 Chevy Caprice
.

My one and only is a 993 so far. However, I've been scanning older p-cars for sale like a crack-head looking for a rock. I've got a real hankering for a hot-rodded early seventies or mid/late eighties car. Still in the process of edumecatin' myself about them though.

The first was .... and still is, a keeper: full leather '80 928 5-sp was in storage for 3 years when found for purchase in '85.
Having a water cooled car then was as much out of the mainstream as having an aircooled today ...

My first two Porsches had a water-cooled flat 4 engine and FRONT wheel drive. Sure the badge read Alfa Romeo, but the designer was Rudolf Hruska who spent many years at Porsche. I came back to flat engines with an '04 Boxster, now a 993 which I like best of all.
