If you can look up at the V1 mirror, you can look up at the V1 itself and save the cost and wiring of the remote display entirely.

I have mine in the ashtray which IMHO is good as far as a stealth appearance but is not the best location since the display is not in the line of sight. The biggest issue really is where to put the main V-1 unit...especially in a cab...I've seen other cars (BMWs, Audis) that have used a dummy box or the rear shelf or below the third brake light...still waiting for someone to come out with a good mod

IMHO Robin's idea to place the remote display in the tach is the best location (if you don't have OBC) but I would perhaps modify it with plain or dark plexi over the display so that it is completely dark w/the motor off. The pic below would also be a clean install if there was a suitably flat mounting surface above the steering wheel.
