..and that does NOT include the man hours to put it together. Plus the makers of the kits assume you KNOW what you doing by the directions they provide. The engine has so much to it and sounds very much like a real jet.

actually, doctors dont have the worst record for terminal aviation events, no specific group does except those that fly visual into instrument conditions, That is the biggest killer and its usually a mountain thats hit, not a house.. The "30year old aircraft______" is quite regularly inspected, and taken apart, at least yearly if used for pleasure,NOT FOR HIRE, its probably got better maintainance than most wheeled vehicles on the road[except us rennlisters]. General avaiation is a wonderful thing in america. you can get a great airplane for 25-30K, and go damn near anywhere. a flightacross this land of ours at 3-5000 ft from coast to coast is one wonderful amazing thing, cant do it anywhere else with such freedom.

Well, I was gonna politely bow out of the hornets' nest I created, but everyone knows that the Valley's largest employer is ****! Come on, now.

Sorry Doc Schiff, my idea is to be a little higher than 3 - 5 kft altitude cruisin' x-country. Way too many bumps from the thermals, specially in the summer. I'm kind of a 12 kft to FL20 guy myself. Of course that's a whole different class of aircraft and a IFR rating, but I got spoiled doing this in the AF for 11 years. ;-)

One's off
