Default Have you heard of Ice 32 for the A/C?

one of the local Indi's is offering to do a $100.00 Ice 32 service which supposedly improves the A/C performance. He made some statements but to tell you the truth, it was latin to me (and I had 1 year of it )

Any input would be greatly appreciated, especially as the HEAT is ON in FL.
Thanks
Ron

Looks kind of interesting. This stuff is supposed to be a "lubricant enhancer." Lots of intersting (fleet owner) customer comments on their site on temperature reduction, but the one that caught my eye is an independent test they had done on an old Ford Escort where they showed an MPG increase after treatment (due to less friction in the AC system, therefore less drag requiring less power to run). Okay, so I can buy the results of that test but I wonder why (a) they didn't have this independent test company measure the temperature differential before and after, and (b) if they had simply re-oiled the system in this old POS after 70K miles, would it have had the same effect?

With all the testing listed on their site I would think it was safe to put in my car (Yes, sweltering here in FL with you Ron) but if my system is operating at peak performance I wonder if it would do anything at all. Anyone can buy this stuff for $20 online but you need the AC equip to put it in - looks like lucrative add-on business for this shop since it probably takes five minutes to put in.

Of course, my disclaimer is that this is just me blabbering since all I know about this product is what I read on the website.

Dave
It seems that they have done this service with many Pcars. It seems interesting that no one on this board actually had the work done on their cars.
My AC is currently blowing cold and does not need anything right now, but I was curious nonetheless.
Thanks for the input.
Ron
