Default FS - 1997 993 Cab w/ 39K miles

Hi,

What price should I ask for this car?

I'm going to list our 97 Cab so I thought I would ask what we should start it at? It's a triple black car with 39,900 car fax verifiable miles, California car with no issues. It's 100% stock and it will come with the window sticker showing that it was sold with the turbo wheels, premium sound and other things. What's the best venue to market it for broad coverage?

Thanks
Mark

Incredible deal! Id love to see pics of the shifter boot and seats. I've been considering adding some alcantara to my life.

I would list it on craigslist and autotrader.com but granted I don't know your local market and it depends on where people are selling in your local market.
If you are not a motivated seller I would put it at $55-$60k with an eye for $53-$57k deal because you are in California, the car is quite low miles and it looks to be in very good near-original condition.
Keep in mind the market is going up and you might be smart selling in the spring for a higher premium
Just my 2 cents, good luck to you and that is a nice 993!

Hello,

I'm considering the purchase of a 1995 993, with ~90K miles. Excellent (though not perfect) condition inside and out, with very complete service records, and well-known to our local indy repair shop. Guards Red over black. 6-speed. I've owned a Porsche for a while now, but never an air-cooled 911. A bucket list item, I guess.

I know maintenance can be expensive, but have always heard the 993's are pretty solid as long as they are cared for. I guess insurance for a decent value can be a bit of an issue too.

The asking price is $44K. I'd greatly appreciate the advice and opinion of those with first-hand knowledge of the 993.

Thanks!

Biggest potential cost is the top end; has it been done? Is suspension refreshed? Lots of threads here will tell you what to look for. Insurance cost is the easiest (and cheapest) part; Hagertys and Leland West are the two most popular companies but there are others. Check out Foxman's MY95 in the classified section. I'm not a big "red guy" and much prefer black over red.

Thank you.

The engine was out of the car a few years ago to re-seal everything. I don't believe the valves were done at the time. Clutch was replaced at this time, along with "everything else" you'd do when the engine is out. I'll check the records when I meet the owner soon and and see the extent of the work. The owner has had the car about 7 years and says he has not refreshed the suspension.

I will be checking Hagerty's and Leland for insurance.
