Wheels different finish on the inside?
OK, so today I was waxing my wheels. I noticed that the inside of the front wheels was a different finish than the outside, while the rears were the same inside and outside. Is this normal? Or, is it my immediate theory that the PO didn't take good care of his wheels and the buildup of brake dust (more on front) has removed the finish from the inside of the fronts?
The finish is a flatter gray than the clear-coated outside. I waxed it anyway. My wife thinks I'm obsessed, but I knew I'd find understanding here...

I purchased a new set of factory turbo twists shortly after buying the car. The insides are as you say - sort of unfinished gray.
Waxing the wheels is perfectly acceptable. If you belong to the OCD club
Mine look as new after nearly 8,000 miles.

I washed mine thoroughly last weekend. It's a brake fluid flush job, but WHILE YOU"RE IN THERE clean back of the wheels...c'mon! Lots of eye rolling on the part of the boss. Only thing I didn't get off was what appears to be cosmoline overspray. I guess the factory did that step with the wheels on!
