I know but normally if just one injector gets weak the car doesnt act like this. Also, I highly doubt that all the injectors went bad at the same time. Either way, I have already replaced EVERYTHING possible so why not the injectors. God im starting to hate this stupid car!!!

Default Another thought if you have not looked at it...

Streather book pg 394 says that a faulty DME and Fuel Pump relay #R53 could result in the engine being unable to accelerate over 4K RPM or so. Worth a shot to replace it and see what happens...

I test drove a 993 for someone a few months back. My feeling was that the car was down on power, but otherwise it felt and sounded fine.

When Hergesheimer's looked at it for a PPI, they found that the throttle was only opening 60%. How that happened, I have no clue. Simple fix, though.

Hi Marlon,
I already swapped out the ECU with one from a friends 993 and it didnt help. I also swapped out the relay and it didnt either. Actually, here is the problem as it stands this morning. The car runs well up until over 4k or so. It will go to 6k ish but then it feels like it is leaning out and then when you go up a gear the car feels sluggish until it can get it all back together. I can get it to 6k if I just run up to it slowly....

Well, let me first start by saying that the car needed a good 60k maintenance. To make a long story short, it was the Cat. The previous owner barely drove the car and rarely took it over 4k not to mention that it had the original O2 sensor. I didnt think that a cat would have that bad of an effect on the way it ran!! Anyway, the way we found it (after replacing the plugs, caps, rotors, wires, fuel pump, O2 sensor, fiel filter, checking the ECU, checking the AFM, the ECU relay) by checking the positive pressure that the cat made with a gage in the bung just forward of the O2 sensor. Anyway, Im a happy guy! The harness is still the original one although PCNA says that it was replaced. Actually, I left the car at the dealer this afternoon so that the area PCNA rep can look at it and hopefully get it replaced. I will keep everyone up to date on this.

What I REALLY REALLY want to do is thank Steve @ Rennsport Systems!!! I have been a pain in his butt but he would not stop bieng helpfull no matter how much of a pain I became Anyway, I intend on using his services and company for any and all my Porsche needs and encourage you all to do the same! Thanks again, Mark

Congratulations! Sorry you had all the trouble but don't bail now because she is fresh with all the new goodies. Go out and drive her for a couple of days and you will fall in love!

I do love this car and im glad that all the maint stuff is done! I do love it but I just kinda have a bad attitiude about it now. Like I said, if I can sell if without a loss, I will and buy something else fun. Maybe a C4S or dare I say it, a 456gt. Im sure that after I get the harness issue resolved and the car back at home, I will have a better attitude. I really do like the car and I like it a ton better than my old 996's I just have a bad attitude about it right now.
