Default thinking of changing my wing.

I was looking at the getty design and ma shaw website. Im debating of changing my rear to the gt2 or clubsport wing with the carbon insert for more downforce for my my new motor. Would it be too much or should I just leave my turbo s wing alone ?

If your new motor has an intercooler, the ClubSport wing is not an option. I vote for the GT-2 wing for your awesome ride....

Alvin,

Before I swapped out my Turbo Wing for the Turbo S wing, I sent an email off to Ruf and asked their opinion of the aerodynamics... in conjunction with the Ruf front spoiler. They encouraged me to make the change, and said its a more efficient wing. As far as the GT2 wing... if you wre racing the car and needed more downforce at the rear (at the expense of aero drag), than go for it. Otherwise, I think its purely a subjective issue... you have to decide what suits your fancy. And, I might add, your "fancy" has proven to be pretty good so far! Good luck!

unless you go the GT2 way with the fender flares and all, I would experiment with an adjustable 996 GT2/GT3 RS wing with the carbon fiber blades Getty design has these wings for the 993. I just think that if you can try them on and they fit nicely it will give a more unique look plus doing the job...

I see FVD has their GT2 wings on sale for less than 2K. Wonder who make the wings for them.

I would love to have your TT-S wing if you make the decision to change. PM me if you want to sell it.

Very pretty car.
As for the wing - I doubt you 'need' the additional downforce if it is a street car. Of course, I haven't driven with you.
I have the GT-2 wing, which I really like, but that is on a track car; it cuts down on rearward visibility quite a bit (mine is nicely polished and sometimes when the sun is glancing off of it I think there is a car coming up on me, when in fact there isn't).
If there is more rear downforce, might you need additional front downforce to balance it?

Dai Low Alvin,

Leave the Turbo S tail... it will be more stealth than the others, IMO.

Although I would hardly describe your car as "stealthy" or subtle, as is, it still retains it's powerful (Don't "F" with me), yet elegant presence. Your cars strike the perfect balance between not being over or under "done." IMHO, I'd keep the "S" wing.

Alvin,

On the road, down-force rarely come into play. If you are doing the Open Road Racing gig with my buddy Roland, you'll need to think about the GT2 wing. So bottom line is, it's for looks and self-gratification purpose more than real aero-dynamic considerations.

I just love the Turbo S wing, but that's JMHO.
