What's the best OBD II laptop software we can use for our cars??
I had a check engine light due to oxygen sensors and I am now having trouble getting all of the tests to complete again. ANyone know of a good detailed OBD II software for our cars?
I figured if I was going to spend the money on it, I may as well get one that I can have a little fun with.
THanks,
Robert

I've used http://www.obd-2.com/ for a few years on all my cars. Works great for me (although I must admit it's far more technical than I've taken the time to understand).

Robert, I have both a hand held OBD-II reader and the Auto Enginuity PC based s/w on one of my laptops that I would be happy to let you use. I haven't had a problem on my cars to get to play with it (insert smily here) and would love an opportunity to try it out.
Let me know if you're interested.

Well let's do it! Man I love this board!!!
I have actually been meaning to call you anyway, because my friend has finally put that 81 911SC up for sale and I didn't know if you were still interested. I meant to tell you at the PCA meeting the other night but forgot.
I have my CFP class at Belmont until 830 tonight. Do you live anywhere near there?

I live out between Mt. Juliet and Lebanon. I have no problem loading the gear and meeting you at your place almost any evening but Fri. Just let me know.
As for the 911SC, my garage is full right now, as much as I would like an SC I just can't do it right now. Thanks for the heads up though.

Not a problem on the 911SC. Let me know if you change your mind or if you want to see it.
I can meet you at my house tomorrow night if you want. I'll even throw in a cold beer and a cuban cigar for your troubles if you're interested. Let me know if tomorrow works, otherwise we can try Wednesday or Thursday. I want to try and diagnose this before the end of the month due to expiring tags.

Tonight (Tues) works for me, let me know what time. Call my cell at 615-306-8132. If your address is correct w/ PCA I have it and will MapQuest the directions.
I'll take you up on the beer but will pass on the cigar....

Yes, PCA has your HVP address and MapQuest found it.
I will try to remember to bring the Workshop (Service) Manuals for the 993 relating to OBD and diags too (don't want to bring all 7 or 8 vols.!). Not sure how much info is in them re: TT's though, never looked.
Wonder if others in the Nashville area might want to join? Your car, your house, your decision. See you tonight.

I invited Brendan since he needs to bring back the front end bra he borrowed to race, but I will have all three kids tonight in addition to trying to do this because my wife is going out on the town with my two sisters. Ladies night out, Party time!!
I guess other Nashvillians are welcome, I'll just have to manage the kids around it. Cary Dunn lives just down the street so maybe he can drop in for a beer as well.

Funny stroy there as well. I drove my car in this morning keeping it under 3,000 rpm's and under 55 mph to try and set the readiness codes. I pulled up next to Cary Dunn in his 993 and we chatted until the light turned green, then he took off. He probably thought something was wrong with me the way I pulled away from the light like a grandmother!! LOL!!! Drive that Turbo like a MAN, sissy!

Thanks again Bill. Very nice of you to come over and help me figure it out. Good news to know all readiness codes are set. I can now stop driving like a Grandmother and go get my car tested and my tags renewed.
As far as the code on the M5, it is running very well right now so I'm not too concerned. I am curious though as to what that means. I just had the 60k service done 600 miles ago, which includes new spark plugs, so I shouldn't be having misfires.
