Default Reports of Damage to Seats from Conditioners

I've read about the various leather conditioners that people have recommended. However, in searching previous posts I haven't come across anyone who has reported damage, such as discoloration, to the finish of a seat from using a conditioner. As we all know, every product suggests that it be tested on an unseen area before broad application. So, has anyone had a bad experience using Lexol in particular? Does anyone have an opinion about its use on seats that have been partially redyed to match the factory color? Thanks.

I've used Lexol cleaner and conditioner twice now on my original cashmere leather seats with no ill effects.

+1 w/ Lexol, in my case on black leather seats... no problems. I DO think there might be problems with Connelly Hide care (called something else now). I tried it on another seat, also leather and it appeared some of the dye came off on the cloth. I'd just say be careful w/ the Connelly product.

I am a big fan of Lexol. I use their vinyl and leather care products. There have been some consumer reports that rate it high and I remember one of my motorcycle magazines did a study that rated it first.

Before I switched to cloth seats (I just like them better) I used Lexol, both the cleaners and the car products. They worked pretty good with no ill effects. I also used the Zaino leather care product, that stuff really smells like fresh leather and works well too. I actually liked it better but it was pretty subjective.

Cheers,

Mike

Too bad I don't know what it is - when I was shopping for a 993 I looked at one with that light grey leather - it was trashed from whatever he applied to it. Worst part - the shifter **** looked like someone sat on it. Moral of the story - stick to the stuff people here don't complain about - Zaino, Lexol, etc.

I *was* a longtime user of Lexol in the past with no ill effects that I recall. I then got turned to this stuff:
http://www.leatherique.com/products.htm

I use the Rejuv Oil and the Pristine Clean with stellar results; it's a world of difference from the Lexol. No residue afterward, unlike the Lexol. Softer results than Lexol. More of a "clean" scent than the Lexol. Been using this stuff now for, oh, at least 5 years now (about 2x/year applications) over a couple of vehicles and really have to say this stuff beats lexol in every way possible, and is well worth the price. Yeah, I know I sound like an infomercial, but it really is that good, IMHO.

I use colorplus products (www.colorplus.com) and are very happy with the results.
