Default OT: anybody put a bluetooth deck in their 993?

OT:

I was looking at crutchfield and you can get a bluetooth equipped deck for $180, I think it's actually cheaper at circuit city. Has anybody tried this sony?

I like how it looks, need a new deck, planned to go with pioneer (1900 model because it looks simple) but this sony looks simple as well and has bluetooth built in. Any input?

For about the same amount of money, I'm thinking about purchasing this JVC model. It can also connect to my existing CDC-3 deck + it has tons of satisfied user reviews.

Default Bluetooth

I installed this:

Sorta pricey, but has a phone capability and a great iPod interface.

I installed a pioneer Bluetooth enabled deck and it's great. Especially when I leave my phone in my jeans pocket and the phone rings, instead of nearly crashing the car tring to answer it, I just press the green button anf hey presto!

Jeff (allill)

Did you see the reviews on the Sony deck? The mic for Bluetooth doesn't seem to pickup very well. I would probably look into a better unit, especially in your case with a Cabby. It would be a PITA if you have to pull over an put your top up and close all the windows just have a phone conversation. Just my .02

I am the National Account Manager for JVC Mobile. Our unit is the only one that will flash your text messages on the screen. If you recieve texts, the JVC is the onlychoice.

Another point to consider, some units only sync to 1 phone, ours will pick up 5.

Scott,

If there's one with an aux mic that can be placed somewhere other than on the deck it'd be good. I do like how the sony looks- no bling.

jianbaby,

What model is it you're talking about?

This doesn't have bluetooth built in but it has a hell of a lot of power for a deck, 31 watts RMS!!!

That Sony looks just like what my buddy bought a month or so ago. He uses the bluetooth all the time and likes it, but I always end up making him pick up the phone because I can't understand what he's saying. I don't know if he has this problem with other people.

According to the Crutchfield reviews it states that the quality of the built-in mic is very poor and unfortunately there's no ext mic port.
