Door Check Repair

Here's a bit of a nasty one, inspired by Mike 3's superb job I asked the special efects boys to weld up My check strap which they obligingly did, I said 'can you weld up the underside of the strap' to which the answer was, "oh don't worry that weld will never break" and they were right, it didn't but the steel of the door pillar just ripped away leaving the hole you see......... now I have a pretty expensive repair!!

Mine was getting pretty loud and needed to be done.
Estimate #1: $500
Estimate #2: $1,500
I just rolled in from picking up the car at Scan Automotive, one of our local indie shops where it was getting repaired. Andy fixed it for $51.12 taxes in.
I'll post some pictures later but the fix is almost invisible and I have yet to touch it up. for Scan.

Hi Louis,
Its hard to tell what Andy did...is there a weld underneath or is it inside the pillar?
That's great if he charged only $50 for the repair!
Cheers,
Mike
