Default Aircon wheezing after stereo install

Reading through previous posts it would seem that me installing a new stereo head unit followed by the aircon starting to wheeze is no coincidence! I presume I've disconnected the vacuum pipe.

Can anyone describe the vacuum pipe that is under the dash please? e.g. colour, approx diameter, where it comes from and more importantly where it should go please.

Cheers.

You may have stereo wires interfering with a manual flap which operates for AC located behind the stereo. You are probably hearing constricted air going around the edges. IThey didn't take into consideration all the amplifier wires you are probably running...) Take the unit out or push all wiring off to one side and see if the wheezing disappears.

Thanks Jim,

I'll pull and prod tonight and see what happens.

Also need to sort out my signature and avatar!

Regards,

David.

This should be a simple vacuum line disconnect. Look for a clear line not plugged into a rubber elbow. Very common here. If you pulled it already you may have found it... but you shouldn't need to pull anything to fix this. Just stick your head up under there and you will find it no problem.
