Let me summarize the dozens of threads on this:
1) If you mean D.C., DRIVE that sombitch from Alabama!
2) If you mean Seattle, most of us used DeMoise and Intercity. Call them both. Their schedules vary, so one may get it to you a lot quicker than the other. I personally had a flawless experience with DeMoise.

I found my 993 in Seattle. I live in Maryland. I drove it home.

Best road trip ever!

Thanks very much! I mean WA State.

I contacted Intercity and they said they didn't serve the AL area. I have received a good e mail reply from DeMoise so will go with them.

Hi,

I have a car in transport right now.....expecting delivery tomorrow here in NY from Naples. I used a broker.....who got me a much much better price on the shipment.

let me start this by saying that I had an awful experience with another broker before my current one. they failed to answer emails and return calls...and really held me up.

That being said....I did get another broker, who was FANTASTIC. They returned every single email and phone call....even though I was a royal pain. I think they can arrange shipping from and to anywhere in the country. I spoke to no less than 20 transport companies, and couldn't be happier with:

www.countrywideautotransport.com

877-717-AUTO

ASK FOR LOUIS. He's very good and on the ball. Got my car transported very rapidly, and very easy to work with. Please let him know Jon from NY with the 911 sent you. I promised him that if he could get me my car within 10 days....I'd give him a shout out. You will find that getting your car when you want it is not so easy. Total f'n headache......Louis was my tylenol.

Good luck,
J

I've used Thomas C. Sunday, Inc. to move my 356 Porsche and my '66 Mustang Hi-Po. Great people at what seemed like a fair price. 800-541-6601. No affiliation. Just passing on some information. Both times the driver had cars far, far more expensive than what I was moving.

I used Passport / FedEx a month ago to bring my C4s from Stilwell KS to Flagstaff, AZ. They were $300 less than Intercity and nearly $500 less than Horseless Carriage. My car arrived safely on the top rack a day earlier than promised.
Why spend more than you have too for a long distance haul?
I used Intercity once and they were no better than Passport. The car arrived safely and on time.
You can go right to Passport's website and get a instant quote.
Here is the webiste link:

Shop around the rates are all over the board.

Personally, and this is just my $.02, I'd never use a broker and I'd never go open trailer. That narrows the field considerably. I went with Intercity, FWIW, who used white gloves every time they touched the car. I could have saved a few bux, but what if someone scratched it? Would have been much bigger PITA then.

I'm sure every carrier, no matter how shady, has a few success stories. Look for the ones that have ALL success stories.

Just my opinion, good luck.
