Default 964RS seats fit a 993?

I am not really in the market for new seats, but damn these are sweet... I know not period/model correct, but they are gorgeous. I wonder if they would fit a 993...

Make them fit. Those would look stunning in your silver/black car.

Porsche fitted the same Recaro seats to both 964 & 993RS (non CS versions) these should bolt straight in. Assuming they come with mounts, otherwise Recaro SPG/pole position brackets should do the trick.

I don't think they will bolt right in w/o the Recaro brackets which I assume come with the seats.

Assuming they are the seats in the picture, they appear to have the neccesary runners to bolt straight into a 993. If they don't have runners, then I suggested sourcing those from other Recaro seats which are suitable...where did I go wrong???....armed with a 6mm allen I have become fairly accomplished at fitting these seats

what to you guys think? i currently have a set of pristine OEM 993 sport seats with crests....but it seems to me that these seats would take my look to a whole new level.... would they be too much in my car?

mrsullivan, the benefits of these seats are more in driving than looks, to my mind thay transform the car as you are held much better when cornering, particularly on track.....in a road car there may be negligible benefit with the downside that they are fixed back and compromise rear access considerably.

my car is a weekend fun car, no track time... while I agree that these are of more benefit on the track, I do also think that they are 'different' and have a certain coolness factor for the street too... plus apparently these were the seats in the 993 GT1...

They should fit just fine. If 996 seats can fit into a 993, then 964 seats will fit a 993, too.

I have these seats in my 993. Be mindful that there is very little padding between the glass shell and the leather cover. These are comfortable and supportive for track work, but not a "touring" seat by an means. The seats in the photo appear to be in stunning condition. Best.

mrsullivan - As you are aware, your current sport seats are highly desireable, and would probably sell to the first interested party (hint, hint) around here.
My point is, the ebay seats would be "less" expensive as you could recover some of the cost with the sale of your current seats.
Just trying to help push you down a slippery slope...

i would actually expect my seats to sell for close to $3k... i think that the black ones in my kind of condition with headrest crests, etc. bring pretty close to that...

These will definately fit in a 993. I have the exact seats in my 993RS replica. I looked at the photos in the eBay ad and it comes with the proper sliders and side mounts to bolt into a 993. These are the exact seats that were fitted to some versions of the 993RS model in Europe.

You can find a photo of them in my car here:
