Bonjorno lunarossa,

OBD is the diagnostic and management installed in the 993 Porsches. The main difference is the OBDI is the European Standard and the OBDII is meant for the North American market. The differences are in the manner the pollution standards were met by Porsche. The OBDII has an added air injection system which starts for 30 seconds when the engine is first started. The passages become clogged over time and an expensive repair ($5000 + -) occurs.

The glass: the standards are different between North America and Europe. You could have to replace all the windows.

PPI: pre purchase inspection. An overall check to control the quality of the vehicle before purchase. Includes a leak down test.

Regarding prices: the 993 is now a collector car. The last of the aircooled Porsches. The prices are escalating all the time. If you cannot afford a good one, don't worry. I was 59 when I got mine. At a much younger age, you should not think that us old farts will make you a gift do you?

If you have a limited budget and you are only 27 why the 993 S ??
There are plenty other older Porsches that would be a much wiser choice and a great way to enter the Porsche world. Maybe in a near future when you reach a solid financial situation you could get the 993S. And don't forget that you'll need money to mantain a car with more than 10 years.

Thanks...It's true I have a limited budget ($42000) and 27... maybe I so young but the passion for this car it's stronger than my age. Why 993 S ? It's the model I prefer, the turdo body it's really fantastic...and I show it like a good investment with a solid future value.
I have to be honest always, I prefer this model ....but I'm not closed to value other 993...at the end my young mind said me buy the best thing that you can pay...and this moment I show that I can pay a 993 S with max 60000 mils, and the most important thing I buy my dream car....

In the past Im loocking for a 911 S 1972....and today I think that it's a very good alterantive take a old car, because I like the old porsche, 993 and 997.....

What is the difernt of the windows?

Thanks again for your opinion and advaice...maybe I don't buy the car but I'm learning so much...

If you want my opinion, if the budget is a constraint, get a 3.2 of the later years. With a G50 gearbox.

The last of the absolutely pure Porsches. Do not expect AC or many comforts. These were raw sportcars.

Ok, you are not alone in your dream. Many of us here have the same dream and the same age and even better cars (not my case, I'm 38). If you allow me I would give you this serious advice:
Buy the 993 S but don't get married. Wives and kids would be a pain in the *** for you and your car. Spend money on gas and mods instead of napkins and that kind of stuff. At least that is what I do.

NEVER settle for an alternative. It won't scratch your itch and you will STILL want your initial dream.
If you can't afford to maintain the car, be patient and wait until you can, otherwise it will cause more headaches.
