Passenger window will not lower
Hello, I'm a bit confused and would be grateful for advice
I got a new switch after doing a search on window switches. The passenger window still will not lower with the new switch installed. I then tried all of the switches by plugging them into the drivers window socket and they all work - the drivers window goes up and down.
What could be causing this?
Thanks

I have a switch issue right now with my passenger window too. What I found is that if either passenger switch is bad the window will not operate. For example left switch passenger bad, right switch passenger good, neither switch will lower the window (both switches on the circuit must be good).
What I would do is take the drivers switch and the new switch and use for both right and left passenger switches and see if it works, if it does great, if not you know you the switches are not the problem.
Good luck.
Marco

Thanks Marco, The search I did seemed to indicate this point, however I tried all of existing switches and the new one in the drivers slot and they all worked to lower the drivers window - I'm confused! Anyone have any ideas?

It's possible that either the window motor is bad, the wiring has a loose connector or the window regulator is stuck. Can you hear motor noise when you actuate the switch? if you do hear the motor and it doesn't move it's a stuck regulator, if you can't it's the motor or wiring.
Good Luck!

I'm currently having the exact same problem and have tried the exact same steps to cure. At this point, I think it is wiring or motor. I've run out of time and patience to figure it out myself, so I'm taking it to a local wrench on Monday to fix it. If I learn anything more, I'll post here.

I had this window problem last year and though I thought about doing DIY, I took it to my neighborhood Indy instead and he replaced both of them all for $150. (replace both switches and some adjustments?)

Sometimes when the switches go, so do the fuses for the window. Check the fuses before you do anything else. If they're gone, replace the switches, then the fuses and try it again.
