Unhappy Help. What's my 993 worth?

I need the help of the wise rennlist 993 board.

It is with a very heavy heart but I am having to concider selling my beloved 1996 993, due to an unfortunate family situtation. I need your help in giving me an idea as to what it is worth. Until the past week I was of the mind set to forever keep it so I in all honesty am not sure what I can get for it. TIA for you help and honesty. Here are the details

2nd owner (I've owned it the past 6+ years) Blk on Blk 1996 993.
90k miles. VERY well cared for. All maintance done on time at a highly respected porsche shop.
Exterior is a 8.5 of 10. As this was my DD for 4 years it's a 5 footer. The only issues with the exterior are rock chips up front. There are no dings and it's never been in an accident. People are always amazed the car has 90k. Paint is great except for the chips.
Interior is a 9 to 10. With the exception of 2 small cracks in the dash and the normal wear on the drivers seat the interior looks new. Still has that classic 993 smell!

Mods are as in the signature.

Know issues. Drivers side door click and the heater doesn't work very well at highway speeds. It work great around town but on the highway it doesn't!

This car has been my baby and has been treated like it. Selling it is truely a last opiton for me.

Thanks again for you help.

How much documentation do you have? IMHO that can be a $3-5K swing depending on the buyer.

I would say start at $35K and don't take anything less than $31K.

I just bought mine in SF. I shopped for 6 months and looked at the market pretty good. I'd say it's worth a strong $30K.

Sorry that you need to sell your car.
I'm thinking $31K.

Dan,

I'm sorry to hear that you have to sell it. I hope all works out with the family situation.

Sub-$30K's would move it quickly, low to mid $30K might take a bit longer, IMHO. Black is a popular color, bu the mileage is high. Start out high; you can always go down.

Best of luck to you.

Dan, sorry to hear of the family situation. When we met at the HRE gtg I saw your car there. It looked pretty darned sharp w/the Techart wheels. Hope everything turns out okay. Good luck.

I know Rob (AC993C2S) bought his (now RS clone) for $30K and it had mods (LWF, suspension.....?) and a third less miles. IMHO the sub 30K is going to be the place to be because of the miles.

In the market, I'd guess high 20s; on this board, I'd guess high 40s.

I agree with Harvey that you could get $31K for it without too much sweat or time with all your cool mods. I'd be inclined to ask for $33K to start though in order to generate a lot of traffic.

I just bought a 95 with that was listed on CL. I flew to LA and drove it home and just loved it BUT it needed axle boots, tires and I put springs on it which yours already has. Mine has all leather interior and no cracks or dings. ANyway I paid $25 but the tires, springs, clutch slave got me to around $29k. I was prepared to pay up to $35 for the right car. I needed silver cause I live in the desert. Passed on several black cars. I looked for two months and there were very few under $35k. A couple of under $30k cars flunked PPI. Personally I would start at $34,500. As they say in the sales biz "there's an *** for every saddle!" If you are not in a hurry you'll get over $30k easily. Good luck.

You should swap/part out the Techart wheels and Supercups before selliing it...you should be able to extract $1500-2500, which is a fairly large amount if you are selling this car for $30k +/-

David- You don't think it will be more attractive and bring a higher price with them on?
