Default Fuchs revisited

For you guys who don't read Pelican, Moses managed to get 17" Fuchs replicas made. They're from Rota, a Phillipine mfr with a great rep. 17x7.5F and 17x9R. Heat treated aluminum and lighter than Cup IIs! Available in various finishes including black centers and RSR anodized spokes. Best part is, they enlarged the center section, so it doesn't look like a tiny center in a huge rim like the Lindseys. Or maybe the best part is the $999 price for a set. Not bad in a world where Porsche tax is applied liberally by wheel vendors.

I know faux Fuchs from certain vendors have a crappy reputation, but Rota makes good wheels, and there are guys running them in Pro series with no failures. To get an idea, they've actually replaced dinged wheels in the past. As anyone who's bent a wheel knows, getting BBS or Volk or any $600+ wheel mfr to replace a rim isn't too likely.

Problem is, they're in pre-ABS offsets only for now. If any of you have "retro" interest like I do, and could see yourself on 50-55mm offset Fuch style wheels, post up and maybe they'll make a run for later cars.

I really like them. I wonder how they'd look if they stretched them to 18"?

I've been following these with interest, love the retro look. Says 911 loud and clear!
