I was in the process of closing the top on my cab when just before the latches engaged I lost all power to the top.Now all I get is a click, click sound when I push the open /close button.I checked the fuses and replaced relay 21.I am stil only getting the click, click sound.Any help would be appreciated.I searched the archives without any luck. Thanks in advance.

It sounds like your gears got stuck. The click-click sounds you hear is the relay trying to send power to the motors but since the top is stuck or out of aligment, they reset making that sound.

Unscrew the side arms so you can at leat close the top manually. Then you can investigate what happened.

Let me know what you find. Mine did the same thing and it was a washer that sits between the motor shaft and the arm. It's a very thin washer. Somehow it had worned out enough that it wedge itself and locked the whole gear on one side.

cabrio993 if you lived alittle closer I would buy you a steak dinner.I loosened the side arms and bingo the motors started working.I re-tighened the bolts and she once again goes up and down.Man o man no matter how tight money gets ( 3 kids in college) I will always pay for a Rennlist membership.Where else can you get such a fast solution to a problem.

Awesome!!! I'm glad that it worked out for you. Thanks for the steak dinner but no need...just paying it forward. Now you are making me hungry!

Have a great weekend!
