Sorry all you mis-informed 993 owners, this guy apparently owns the true last model year air cooled 911....... http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/car/305592431.html

He could certainly build a case for an '88-'89 as the "last real 911."

993 obviously as the last air-cooled

964 is the "first major body change," but hardly the "last" of anything

He was probably referring to the last year of the old-school fenders. I'm sure he knows it's not the last of the air-cooleds.

lol, I can't think of a single thing that a 1990 964 was the last year of. Old style side view mirrors maybe? I think the best I can do is:

1990 C4: the first year of the second to last model of air-cooled 911s!!

Meh, i guess that doesn't sound too exciting.

Wasn't 1990 the last year they tried to build a 3.6l air cooled flat 6 without a head gasket?

nope 91 and plenty still are running around with high miles and no head leaks
