Default Fresh air intake grill surround

When I was putting the car away for winter I took off the little grill that sits at the front of the car just behind the depression in the hood. There was some wax buildup I wanted to get off. The grill has a cloth surround around it. Mine came apart in many peices. I was thinking of replacing it with hockey stick tape in true Canadian style. Anyone got a better idea??

Having removed this particular item (several times) so as to clean both IT and behind IT - in my usual (somewhat ****) 'full preparation for a full concours' way... I can attest that the 'gasket' that's behind this black-grill is rather flimsy and prone to disintegration.

Anything that you can put there - that would serve a similar purpose - IMHO - will suffice.

Just don't lose those 4 screws !!!

Thanks Gerry - I'll take that as a blessing for the hockey stick tape!
