Talking 993 Convertible top question

Hi Everyone:

My 993 top has an intermittent problem with the power. I think there might be a broken wire in the harness from either the ignition switch to the control unit or from the panel operating switch to the control unit.

I've already taken the control unit out to check whether or not there were any cold solder joints inside, and could not find any. Everything else (micro switches, limit switches, etc) also checks out.

Does anyone know to which terminals on the control unit the ignition power lead and the operating switch connects? (also to which lead on the ignition switch.)

It should be a simple matter to bypass the broken wire(s) with this information. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

Have you checked the E-Brake switch?. This is a common source of problems. If the car thinks the e-brake is not up it will kill power to the top motors. Hope this helps
