Muffler part nos.
Hi all
I have found a pair of mufflers to buy so that I can go down the RSR route. (Unfortunately Gert is currently out of stock of mufflers so the plan is to buy these and send them to Gert for modification)
The question is will they be suitable for my 1994 Narrow Body Carrera 2 993?
The numbers stamped on them are:
993/14-2, Gillet 95 11, 993.111.045.11
993/15-2, Gillet 96 01, 993.111.046.11
Many thanks

I think you need to check that you currently have Gillet mufflers. Or maybe it's only the cats and heat exchangers (headers/primaries) that need to be of the same brand to mate together? Gert will know!

They are the correct part numbers, but as Felix said, check to see what you have on already. If you have Gillets on already, then no problem. I'm not sure which way round is interchangeable - i.e. you can put Gillets with Bischoff or vice versa. Someone should be able to answer this. If you already have Gillets, then this is not an issue.

Thanks to both of you - have done a search and found out about the difference between bischoff and gillet. Sods law mine has bischoff on it but it does appear from the search I did that it shoudn't be a problem to put the gillet mufflers on - unless anyone can tell me different?

Looking at a website like Fabspeed shows different sport cats or cat bypasses depending upon the brand originally fitted but only one type of muffler.

The gillets will fit fine, you'll be left with the Bischoff gasket rings, since they're integrated in the gillets and loose on the bischoffs. No issues at all, the bischoff and gillet only are incompatible at the point where the cats connect to the manifold/heat exchanger... Did it myself too, so no issue....
