I did a search for wheel and tire sizes and got throughly confused. Can anyone tell me if the following will fit on a 96 C4S without having to roll the fenders?
Wheels
18 X 8" FRONT OFFSET IS 50
18 X 11" REAR OFFSET IS 45
Yes sachin, those will fit bold on.. No modifications required.. Are you fitting 996TT wheels? . I know a couple of guys like ViperBoB are running tires as wide as 315 with that setup and without rolling fenders. That was with the 996TT wheels, and then you would want to go larger up front, at least 235/40/18. Since you have a C4S you should also keep rolling cirdumferance in mind when choosing tire sizes.. 225/40/18 and 285/30/18 is better than 295/30/18 in the back IMHO, otherwise you risk doing damage to the awd system.. Another option is 235/295 as I said or 245/35 front and 285/30 back.. Or if you want to go real wide (without rolling fenders though) you can go 235/40 front and 315/30 back with almost identical rolling circumferance.. Good luck
Thx Viggo. Yes, they are coming from a 996TT. I'm getting a deal on these $1,200 for wheels & tires, although the P-Zero tires are at about 50% tread. If these are stock on a TT, then wouldn't the rolling circumference be the same on a C4S?
I'm debating whether I should put new SO2's on the back for $800, or get this set with new wheels (chrome) and used tires. Although, I'm not entirely sure if chrome twists would look good with arena red?
I believe 295/30 rears were mounted as standard on the 996tts.. I thought the fronts were 235/40 as standard on the 996.. I might be mistaken.. Do a search on "rolling circumferance" or something like this.. lots of info. There are sites that can calculate the rolling circumferance for you as well.. I recon the difference should be no more than +-1% roughly, otherwise you risk damaging the awd system. 1200 sounds like a fair deal though. A lot of ppl with 996 pcars have their hollows replaced by bling rims.. gr8 oppotunity to buy a great wheel for a great price IMHO.
I'm not a big fan of chrome wheels on Pcars, but thats just my 0.02$... good luck

deal..I got a set for $700 last week with worn rear tires.. there's a set on 6speed with 80%tires for $950.
At least for Michelin PS2's, both the 285/30 and 295/30 are listed at the same diameter .... 25".
Sachin, I also installed the 996TT tire/wheel set you indicated on a C4S - perfect fit, and there was no difference in diameter of the 285 SO2's vs 295 P-rossos that would be outside the range of normal tire wear.
