Cool commercial but interesting what the announcer says at the end -
"Shell V power, Ferrari fuel FOR THE ROAD".
What does that mean? Seems like the ad agency or the execs could have come up with something better than that!
As one of the resident ad guys, I'll tell you that's one of the most delicious pieces of film I've ever seen. To your question, you witnessed the hand of the retail marketing execs forcing the hand of the motorsport guys. Trust me, if it doesn't tie back into "the road," (gas stations, dealers) the "motorpsorts" ad doesn't get produced.
Besides, this thing will be overdubbed in a dozen native languages for markets that care about F1. They might be able to slip in a more enthusiast-oriented line. Here in the land of NASCAR and NFL, we'll be lucky if we see a :30 second version late night on Speed, which won't be nearly as "epic."
That did it....Thanks! That is the most amazing sh#t I have ever seen in a commercial. A bunch of us car freaks couldn't stop talking about it at lunch today. Everyone sharing their favorite part. One of mine is the cab driver flinching.
