again I wouldn't really call it difficult steering just "heavy" feeling compared to other cars I've driven (read: not 993's). Just trying to figure out if this is wear/tear on the car or just the feel of these cars. It certainly wasn't undrivable nor did it feel unsafe. the clutch I kind of expected.
For those saying the 993 is easy or caddy-like compared to your older P-cars, compare them to your wifes(or husbands.....) car or another non-sporting daily driver and thats what I'm trying to get a feel for if that makes any sense.

One thing I've noticed with 993's is that they all seem to feel different in terms of steering & clutch. It's weird, really. I've NEVER driven another person's 993 and thought, "yup this feels familiar". Maybe it's just me.

Actually, I think you can apply that to any 911. No two I have driven (from the same era) ever felt the same.

Otherwise, best of luck.
Using my amazing powers of deduction, I surmise you drive a WRX. My coworker has an STI. Typical Jap car - clutch and steering have a "friendly" feel. In my 993, I feel like I have to work at seat positioning every day to get the right feel on the clutch pedal, and it does feel a little heavy. In terms of steering, I would say that 993s with stock wheels/tires push some and the steering is heavy - but the experts might have more to say than me.

I am in Orlando. Actually, I worked on my car at my mechanic's and someone brought their 95 black on black 993 for a PPI for a potential buyer in TN. Mileage was in the 70's if I remember.
PM me if I can help you. My son has an early soccer match, but after that I am available.
Thanks
Ron

If you are serious about buying a car, you must have someone competent PPI it for you. Steering and clutch effort are all relative. I have had plenty of hi performance cars, including a 996 GT2 and driving the 993, like anything else, takes some getting used to. I agree with those that say the car doesn't require any extraordinary effort to wrestle or pedal, but at the same time, I found that initially, the steering wheel was very close to the dash, and more upright than I am used to, that you sit down into the car and feel somewhat enveloped by the body shell and that while the car has decent low end torque, once warmed up, you should drive it up into the RPMs. I find the gearbox to be an absolute delight, easy to find gears, shifting action quite positive. After a few miles of driving, the car fits like a glove- I love its small size-- and inputs are translated without alot of "mechanical interference." This P car is far more involving to drive on the street than my Italian muscle car, which requires real effort and constant attention, particularly a lower speeds, where it reveals its tractor-like origins.
