Default So where DO you buy Recaros?

Seems like most web vendors have the same exact info and pictures and the same prices for the same seats. I assume Recaro has an advertised price rule that prohibits dealers from showing anything other than full list price.

Which dealers have reasonable prices and good service? Do any of them carry inventory, or is everyone drop shipping from the same Recaro warehouse?

Curious about your experiences...

I bought plenty of stuff from speedwaremotorsports always shipped fast, no experience with seats from them though.

from their site "We stock massive Sparco, Recaro, Arai, Alpinestars, Oakley, BBS, Kinesis inventory with continuous daily shipping. We've taken our huge retail store and put it online."

There's a thread on this board somewhere from a bloke who ordered custom upholstered beige leather recaro's for his p-car.

IIRC he wanted them done in the same leather than his original interior. I do remember he was not best pleased with the finish, to put it mildly.

Right. JPS's group buy went through FVD USA if I recall. He removed the posted price list but the numbers being thrown around were 20-25% off the usual prices.

I bought my SRDs from Speedware Motorsports back in November when they were $1000 for a pair. Great service via phone and internet. Shipping was very fast. Seems like Speedware has a special relationship with Recaro as they exclusively make the SRD for Speedware.

Which model are you looking to get?

Looking at the ubiquitous Sport. Was thinking the Beige fake suede (dynamica? like alcantara I guess) with black would look OK in my Cashmere/Black interior. I know it's comfortable.

Also noticed a recent model called the Speed-S. It's like an SRD back on a lower bolstered seat.

Yeah, that bloke was me. Long writeup coming when they are finally fully installed, but short version:
FVD: Great shop. I would never have these seats without their help.
Recaro, custom, quality: Pick only 2.

Here's a preview...install not yet done as I'm figuring out 5/6 pt mounting.

P.S. One more thing to factor in...if you are going to use HANS, you really have to sit in the seats first. I talked to someone who got the Speed, I think, and had to ditch and get something else because the belt holes were above his shoulder...a big no no for HANS.

Quick Reply: So where DO you buy Recaros?
