Default GT3 Installation

I just recieved a pair of GT3 seats from Gert for my 95 993.The sliders that gert sent look 996 but he states they will work in a 993.Gert forgot to send me a hard copy of the directions that show the modificaton I need to do to make the seats fit.I know others have done this update so I was hoping I can get some help.Also has anyone done this update and used a anti-sub belt attachment to the seat.I am trying avoid drilling for this belt.Thanks

Yes they will work, but you will be sitting about an inch and a half higher than you are now.

That's what I've found out, too.

In order to fit the seats with 996 hardware, you must;

- Bend the front tabs to make them sit flush with the rails.
- cut guide pins at the rear of sliders. Don't worry cause you don't have them on stock seats.

There are some ways to lower the seats using 996 hardware but not for every one.

Good luck

FWIW, I never had to do any of this futzing around.

Use the aftermarket generic Recaro sliders (without height adjustment) and you won't lose any headroom.

I believe the brey krause side plates help with the headroom.

I used the bk sub strap bar bolted to the sliders. Works well, with no drilling required for the sub straps.

I thought there was a 993 specific sliders available to mount the GT3 seats in a 993?
