Cab again? or Other convertibles in the garage?
Cab owners- if you're a weekend, fair weather driver, despite the questionable rear visibility, wind noise, additional maintenance costs and smaller rear seat, would you do cab again or switch to coupe?
Coupe owners- do you have or plan to get a convertible in addition to your 993 coupe? If so, what is it? 993 Cab? 356 Cab? Corvette? classic Mustang? Chevelle? Austin-Healey 3000?, MGA?, '59 Caddy? (I'm kidding...sorta)

We are looking for a 993 cab tip for my wife -- ready to purchase -now-
After two 993 coupes, I am curious to see what a 993 cab is like. And I will let my wife drive this one

ive got a cab, only got to put the top down a few times as i just got it less than a month ago. but i have a 2001 330ci fully worked(35k in mods, including supercharger, rear diff, exhaust, clutch, flywheel, short shift kit, clutch stop, suspension) for my coupe car. the 330 runs a little bit faster than an e46m3 and e39m5. so ive got the best of both worlds(as far as weekend drivers)

Ehhhh...get a Targa. Visibility is better than both cab and coupe, it maintains the classic lines of the coupe, maintenance is not really an issue, and you can drive it with the top open feel in pouring rain.

The 911 I always had in my mind's eye since I was a kid was a cab so that is what I got 5 years ago when I bought my 993.
Now it's five years later and looking to get something with a roof, mainly for the occational DE/track day. Not that I can't do that with a cab but I added a relatively extensive aftermarket stereo(which I wouldn't do again) so there's a custom sub woofer enclosure in the rear driver side footwell and a big amp and crossovers in the trunk so now I can't track this car unless I want to rip out the stereo.
Long story short I'm lookin to pick up a used cayman S and put a lift in the garage. I thought about trading out the 993 but it's hard to part with. I really was ready to get rid of the 993 but started following this forum and it's renewed my 993 interest. So now instead of selling, I've recently replaced the clutch and about to go to the bilstein HD/m030 setup. Of course, my wife has other things to say about my 'plans'.

I had both. It really depends on what you want. I enjoyed my cabs, especially living in Florida, but they don't make a great track car. I do however wish, Porsche had made a turbolook cab in the 993 model. If so, I would still be driving cabs.

My first car ever was a 81 Toyota Celica Coupe with a sunroof, I loved having a sunroof, then I traded it in for an 87 Turbo Targa Supra, man I loved the Targa top, hard top when you wanted it, open air when you wanted that. then my girlfriend, now wife bought a 68 912 Coupe, uh oh, then the Porsche Virus afflicted me. I bought an 80 SC Targa, loved that car!!! Now I have a 96 911 Coupe. While I loved the open air experience, there were just fewer times when I wanted that much air blowing on me, or sun beating on my head. True, nothing like driving in the open, but more so, as I get older, I prefer the comfort of AC and less road noise. I suspect as time passes I will miss the open air and long for a cab, one of those mysteries of human nature, you want something you don't have. For now, the sunroof coupe fits just fine though.
Get one of each. that will solve your dilemma.....
