Default Got Turbo "S" Ducts? I do now thx to another Rennlister, w/pics :o)

So, months ago I got a birthday gift from the wife, the "ok to buy" Turbo "S" Ducts for my 993. They came in the mail and I thought, $300+ for these 2 small pieces of plastic with a cheesy little light? Eegads, what a chump I've been. For $50 total, my paint shop sprayed them in Polar Silver, a pretty good deal. Then the weather turned, it got cold, it snowed, it iced, they put down sand, salt, little pebbles, more sand, more salt, etc for 2 months off and on. I didn't even start up my car for 2 straight months, and then this morning I did, and it started right up. No flat spots on the tires, no trickle charger keeping the battery strong - it just started up like a champ, and I was "off" to a fellow Rennlister's garage to help me install them.

Here's some pics... I'm SO glad I paid the big bucks for them. They look really great.

Whoops, how did that silly pic get in there...

Getting started...

Does it fit? Did they spray it the right color? Does it match? Yahoo, it does!

Ahhhh, power tools

Whew... plug and play lights. That makes things easy

Dr... Scalpel?

Ahh, the old sheared off screw situation...

The final step:

Yes, I forgot to take pics of the finished job, and yes, I kept the lovely bumperettes on the car, but it's done now and it really pumps up the volume in the looks dept for the car.

If any of you are considering this look, I'd highly recommend it. Here's a pic of Rob's car (another Rennlister) with the ducts, sans bumperettes though... Mine now looks like this, but with the bumperettes in place and the red brakes instead of yellow.

Cheers,
Steve R

Thanks guys. They are the stock ducts from Gert.

Sorry about the duplicate post. I hit the dreaded enter key somehow at just the wrong time, as we have all done from time to time in our computer life, and then dreaded the final result - 2 simultaneous posts, leaving one with that sick feeling in the gut, that feeling that you have a huge "LOSER" painted across your forehead .

Luckily, we have a handy edit feature here to "blot out the mess". Some of my web forums I visit like Timezone has no edit feature, so if you make a posting error, or stupid spelling or grammar error, it's always there for eternity.

So, now that the ducts are in, "What's next?"

Thx allill. I can't take credit for the install as I didn't do too much of it, but I can take credit for having them on my car now .

I'd thought about doing those Turbo S ducts as well but initially I got HK ducts instead-cheap but later able to find REAL TechArt stuff! (like Allill's but real deal!) I can't wait to paint and install those...Will post pics soon.

Looks good, we just installed a similar set on Briefescape's (Guy's) car....the fit is good and they are very easy to install.

I will say though that I was very dissapointed with the lights...they are very weak and cheap looking. When I put in my clone ducts in I installed 55w Hella driving lights which make a noticable difference. I also noticed with the Porsche ducts the open duct is not too deep so you can see to the inside of the bumper...anyone have a solution that looks good for this?

Cheers,

Mike
