Speedline question, help me identify plz
Guys I'm, having a problem identifying these wheels. I contacted the seller and the info I have so far is:
1. These are geniune Speedline wheels, no aftermarket copy like RH etc.
2. The sizes are 8,5x18" and 11x18"
3. The offsets I have yet to find out but he claims that they will fit a WB 993
and that they are currently sitting on a 993TT..
The only thing I figured is that they were the 964 RS 3.8 Speedlines, which came in 11"x18 from the factory but it seems that those had ET5 which does not by any means fit a WB993.. So my question is: WHat are these? If they are not speedlines then what? He claims that they are 7500euros for the set new.
=~10K USD..
I searched a bunch and couldn't find any info about 11x18" Speedlines with 993 WB offsets.. could they be a special order? Did Speedline ever produce these?
I am waiting on the buyer to go check his wheels out in his garage and give me the correct offsets and partnumbers. Always good to have a sencond opinion.. Thanks guys

They sure do look like the '94 3.6t 3 piece Speedlines 8x18ET52, & 10x18ET61, also offered in 9x18ET48 & 11x18ET5
Any of several things could be going on
*get the total edge to edge distance subtract 1" to get the bead width
*get the mesurement from either edge to the mounting face
with these 2 #s you can determine the o/s
Speedline is notorious for poorly labled wheels, don't trust what it says on the back

- mis-measurement of rims - very common
- one off's
- something new?

8x18ET52 polished 965.362.136.01
10x18ET61painted 965.362.140.00
10x18ET61polished 965.362.140.01
I don't have the 9 & 11#s, they were PMS items
I also found a 9.5x18 3 piece 965.362.138.05 that was used on the Cup cars

I agree but the 9.5 x18 3 pieces used on the Cup cars were for the rears, the 11's used on the 3.8 RS and RSR also had the ET 5 as mentioned or almost 0 offset like the earlier 9 & 11" x 15" fuchs.
I have to agree that there are not enough bolts for speedlines. Factory 3.6 Turbo wheels have 40 bolts these appear to have 35. The early version RH 3.6 replica wheels had 38 bolts and the newer versions now have 40, although the RH wheels don't look exactly like the speedlines as these appear too. (other than the bolts)
Do these have the "Speedline for Porsche" etching on the wheel and do the have the widths and offsets etched on either side of the valve?
I am curious to find out what they are since unlike most replicas they are too close in looks to the originals although at $10k they are way too expensive and you can pick up a new set of 3.6T wheels for half as much. Although, if these are speedlines with a Porsche number they may have a collectible value which the owner is banking on.

The big clue is "SPEEDLINE for PORSCHE" ... the word "SPEEDLINE" is in upper case arial font, the word "for" must be lower case arial and the word "Porsche" uses the Porsche font.
Good luck.

IMO- I don't think the centers look right. I could be wrong but the bolt holes don't have any curve to them like all the real speedlines I have seen. You can see the curve to the bolt hole in the picture cobalt just posted. And here is a picture to try and show how much more curve the centers have on this set of wheels.
Also all the correct speedlines I have seen have 40 bolts, and the ones you posted have 35.

Good eyes.
I didn't pick up on the lug nut holes not being curved. Usually the centers of aftermarket wheels don't curve the spoke out to the lip and this is what surprised me.
BTW what color is the turbo you posted. I have never seen this color before and it does not appear to be a factory color.

Opon closer inspection of my attached picture, when compared to the picture attached by cobalt, it now looks as if the bolts on my picture are larger and that they also stand more from the wheel.. hmm
