I know they are a dealer but still for a car with 63K miles on it isnt 40K a little over the top?

Don't know much about targa market but 40K for a car with 63K miles is a bit too much...... Unless I'm missing something about these cars. Maybe between 34 and 36...... I don't have a clue..... Sorry.

They are pricing their C4Ss that have 35K miles for 56000 USD. To me, thats a bit much. With that kind of money you could get a Cayman S, or a really nice 996.

First off, Truspeed generally has nice cars, but rarely gives them away. Newport Beach-adjacent rent ain't cheap!

Once Varioram cars get over 50K, I'm not "Vari" interested, unless someone has done the top-end. Auto Kennel had a white one with a new top-end which was quickly snatched up by an astute buyer - hopefully an RLer!

So mileage is strike one. Targa and Black are also slight minuses. I think that car will sell in the mid-30s, but it will take a while. I don't think they've had it long...

If you are a savvy buyer & ready to pay right then and there, you should be able to get them down a little. This car has a lot going for it (service history, new clutch) and Truspeed is one of the few used dealers with a decent reputation (that I've read). Lot of people are marketing the Targas as being "rare" thus being more desirable. If a Targa is what you want, mid/mid-high $30k doesn't seem too bad.

They are higher than private party, but that is the cost of buying from dealers, no?

i think that really depends on who you are asking...i often think the targa would have been a great car for me to have gotten...and while black is a PITA to keep clean, it does look nice, imo of course.

why is that?

If you are interested in black targa there is a 18K miles 1996 for 43K on the autotrader.

Agree it sounds a bit high but that's why they call it "asking," right? If the clutch is new that's $3k you don't have to spend, and if they've done the 60k service that's another $1.5k give or take. All of a sudden it sounds like a better deal than a $36k car with a bunch of question marks.

Also, search this board for info about Truspeed; I recall that they have been pretty stand-up if there's a problem with one of their cars.

Targas (in 993's) are very hard to find. I sometimes I wish I had gotten a targa but I don't care for black, JMO.

Targas do command a premium over cabs and coupes but I also think $40 is a bit rich. Then again, the car looks to be in exemplary condition for the mileage and seems to have a complete history.
